"I qualified in level 3 childcare in 2011 and, after having my two children, then started to work in a preschool. I have been working at Little Orchard since 2018 and became Manager in 2021. I am fascinated by the Montessori ethos and how the children create independence through play.
The Woodlands setting is tucked away behind the school and is very peaceful. We are very lucky to have daily visits from the squirrels (which the children love to see!), we also have some Rooks nesting in the trees in the garden. We have formed close links with Woodlands Park Primary School and arrange thinking and doing sessions in the reception class to allow the children who are transitioning to school to get an insight into what a primary school is like.
I am very proud of my team and what we achieve on a daily basis. We all work together to get the best outcome for the children. Our environment is calm, caring, stimulating and secure."

Little Orchard Woodlands Montessori Nursery is situated in the grounds of Woodlands Park Primary School, Ivybridge and conveniently is just five minutes from the A38.
The Devon nursery setting is divided into areas by shelving and has a separate area for children under two. Older children are welcome to go to the younger areas, so that siblings and friends can be with each other if they wish to; and should the children want to rest they can curl up in one of our cosy nests for sleeping.
Woodlands Montessori Nursery is open from 8am - 6pm and offers the children breakfast, a two course hot lunch produced by a qualified chef, high tea and snacks. Children are also welcome to bring their own food from home. For more information on our food click here.
Our beautiful outside facilities include raised beds, a sand pit and a hard floor area for water play and painting. We are fortunate that we are able to use the school playing field and are very close to the local park for nature walks.
Children attending Woodlands nursery move on to a variety of primary schools in the Devon area due to our large catchment area. However, we work very closely with Woodlands School sharing expertise, training and resources, making us the ideal choice for children who will attend Woodlands School.
