Newly opened Little Orchard Sparkwell is in a rural, village location on the outskirts
of Plympton and just five minutes from the A38.
The setting is divided into areas by shelving, gates and
wooden, low fence so it has a real family feel. Older children can go to younger areas, so that siblings and friends
can be with each other if they wish to; and should the children want to rest they can curl up in one of our cosy nests for
sleeping.
As Sparkwell is open from 8am - 6pm we
offer the children breakfast, a two course hot lunch produced by a qualified chef, high tea and snacks. Children are
also welcome to bring their own food from home. For more information on our food click here.
Our beautiful outside facilities include: a large covered decked
area for free access outside; a mini orchard for planting and a grassed area backing onto a field which has horses and sometimes
deer for the children to watch. There are always lots of birds and wild rabbits for the children to discover and in the village
there is a woodland walk and recreational field.
Little Orchard Sparkwell is unable to be accredited by the Montessori
Evaluation and Accreditation Board (MEAB) until it has been operating for two years and it has yet be inspected by Ofsted.
However it is run with the same exacting standards as our South Brent nursery which is accredited by MEAB and was awarded Outstanding at its January 2011 Ofsted inspection. Like South Brent,
Little Orchard Sparkwell also closely adheres to the principles of Montessori and is managed by Caroline Lucas who holds the International Montessori Diploma.
At Sparkwell we cater for children
aged 3 months to 5 years, Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm. The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year. For more
information on our sessions click here.
