Little Orchard Montessori Nursery was started by Jane Tuson in 1981, and later
moved to one of our current sites: The Recreational Hall, in South Brent. The current proprietors took over in September 2005 and due to demand and a local need for full day care we opened a second
Montessori nursery in January 2011, on the old school site at Sparkwell.
Proprietors:
Tracey Bruce – South Brent Manager
Tracey is a fully qualified childcare professional holding the International Montessori Diploma and NAMCW Diploma
with a wealth of experience and knowledge in a variety of child care settings. Tracey has worked as a nanny in the local area
as well as Bristol and London for media professionals. Tracey gave up work to start her own family, and fell in love with
the Montessori philosophy when seeking the best for her own children. It has been her lifelong ambition to own her own nurseries, which she is now happily
pursuing as the Montessori Teacher at Sparkwell, overseeing the teaching at the South Brent Nursery and being the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and Safeguarding Officer for Sparkwell.
Caroline Lucas – Sparkwell Manager Caroline is a fully qualified childcare professional holding the
International Montessori Diploma, NNEB Diploma and ILM Business Management Level 4. During her college education,
Caroline became inspired by the Montessori philosophy and its benefits for children. Caroline has worked in the local area as a nanny for professional families and at a Montessori
nursery. She is now very proud to be the owner of her own Montessori nurseries. Caroline is the manager of Sparkwell and oversees
the business management of South Brent.
“Maria Montessori
and her ground breaking educational methods fascinate, amaze and inspire, and we are delighted to be able to offer this education
philosophy in our nursery.”
Tracey and Caroline are both Montessori qualified and
regularly attend short courses and study days to ensure they remain current on all issues regarding the provision of early
year’s education.
Above all we respect the children we care for, are pleasant and polite at all times and
are responsive to the needs of the individual child.
